Tsinghua-Daimler Joint Research Center and Mercedes-Benz jointly organize ‘SAFE ROADS China’ event
On April 12,
Tsinghua-Daimler Joint Research Center for Sustainable Transportation and
Mercedes-Benz jointly launched the " SAFE ROADS China " event at
Tsinghua University. Bin Yang, Vice President of Tsinghua University, and Mr. Hubertus
Troska, a member of the board of directors of Daimler AG and CEO of Daimler in Greater
China, attended the event and delivered speeches.
Before the
ceremony, Bin Yang met with Mr. Hubertus Troska and his party. The two sides
exchanged views on school-enterprise cooperation, teaching, research, and talent
training.
Bin Yang said
that the Tsinghua-Daimler Joint Research Center for Sustainable Transportation
is a successful example of international cooperation and school-enterprise
cooperation in Tsinghua. He hoped that the research center can continue to
promote the integration of production, teaching and research in the
transportation area, innovate in cooperation modes, create more remarkable
results in academic research, results development, and talent training, as well
as make more contribution to smart cities, intelligent transportation,
autonomous driving, and safe travel. He also emphasized that Tsinghua
University enrolled undergraduates in traffic engineering for the first time in
2017 in order to foster more high-level professionals in transportation
disciplines for national construction and enterprise development.
Hubertus Troska
said that Daimler Group had always attached great importance to the development
of automotive safety technology. Daimler Group is committed to bringing more
advanced and smarter technologies and products to its customers. He hoped to
deepen the cooperation with Tsinghua University through the Mercedes-Benz
" SAFE ROADS China " event and work together for the goal of safe
travel and get new achievements.
