On March 26th, 2021, Professor Xingwei Li, President of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR), President of Macau University of Science and Technology, Academician of the Royal Academy of Engineering, visited the Department of Engineering in Tsinghua University and participated in the academic seminar organized by IAHR and YPN of Tsinghua University. Professor Zhaoyin Wang, Professor Hongwei Fang, Professor Xudong Fu, Associate Professor Mengzhen Xu and members of Tsinghua YPN attended the seminar.

Professor Xudong Fu warmly welcomed Professor Li, briefly introduced the basic situation of postgraduate education in the Department of Hydraulic Engineering and expressed wishes for future cooperation. Professor Xingwei Li thanked Tsinghua University for its consistent strong support for IAHR and gave ardent expectations to the young scholars present. Professor Li briefly introduced the three main tasks during his term of office: ecological water resources, artificial intelligence and water, Africa and water. At the same time, he expressed the hope that the association, Macau University of Science and Technology and Tsinghua University could establish a close relationship of cooperation and promote high-quality development of water resources.

At the meeting, 5 Tsinghua YPN members including Chenge An, Zheng Gong, Minhui Li, Fakai Lei and Chendi Zhang, briefly reported on their recent scientific research achievements, covering sediment movement, numerical simulation of water flow, river network morphology, fish ecology, etc. Professor Li shared his opinions on these reports and had a heated discussion with the students present.
