研究领域

自1979年研究高含沙水流和泥石流,建立了包括伪一相高含沙水流、紊流型两相高含沙水流、层移质运动及泥石流运动的高含沙水流运动理论体系。发现了高含沙湍流的分层规律、脉动频谱、高含沙遏紊和减阻机理,提出了高含沙明渠水流不稳定性理论。建立了包括伪一相高含沙水流、紊流型两相高含沙水流、层移质运动及泥石流运动的高含沙水流运动理论体系。把一般挟沙水流、高含沙水流及泥石流纳入统一的力学机理,提出了泥沙自起动到高含沙水流运动极限情况的统一模式。
从1997年开始,王兆印及其研究小组致力于河流生态和河流综合管理研究,创立了植被-侵蚀动力学,将各生态应力定量表达并且统一在植被-侵蚀动力学方程组中,并在此基础上他开发了植被-侵蚀状态图,可以预测流域植被在生态应力和人类活动影响下的发展趋势,回答是否和究竟花费多大努力才能改变植被状态。
