摘要:Morphodynamics of alluvial-bedrock rivers subject to landslide dams in Tibet PlateauThe longitudinal profiles of rivers in uplifting regions are controlled by a balance between tectonic uplift and bedrock erosion. The episodic events of barrier dam formation and failure which happen in uplifting regions such as eastern Tibet and Himalayas may also exert significant impacts. However, how these extreme events influence the long-term morphodynamics of bedrock rivers has not been well understood. Here we integrated the MRSAA-c (Corrected Macro-Roughness-based Saltation-Abrasion-Alluviation) model with a dam-breach model, to simulate the impacts of barrier dams (as well as their outburst floods) on the morphodynamics of alluvial-bedrock rivers in a variety of time scales. We first evaluated the impacts of one single dam breach event, including the outburst flood hydrograph, spatiotemporal evolution of alluvium deposit, and pattern of bedrock incision. The initial coverage of sediment alluvium deposit is found to play an important role in the medium- and long-term morphodynamics. We then studied the integrated effects of repeated dam breach events, especially on the pattern of river equilibrium state. This was fulfilled by comparison with the cases with constant water discharge and sediment supply. Finally, we discussed random dam breach events in terms of magnitude and frequency. This work would facilitate understanding the distinct features of the river longitudinal profiles in the high-relief and deep-valley landscape in Tibet Plateau.
